The One Tool I Use To Stay Organized With Content

Content creation is so important these days if you’re not treating your business as a media company first and foremost then you’re doing something wrong.

Yea, there a million pieces of content being put out daily but not putting out content yourself because there’s too many blogs out there is like not going after your passion and starting your business because there are too many people with a business already.

Once you make the commitment to put out content in a CONSISTENT manner then the real work begins!

First of all let’s talk about content + consistency.

Content:

There are different types of content but the end goal should always be the same = provide value.

New here? I wrote these blog posts to help you out in your biz:

Here are some types of content you can be putting out as a business owner:

  1. Blogs

  2. Instagram Posts

  3. Instagram Lives

  4. Facebook Posts

  5. FB lives

  6. Facebook Videos

  7. Facebook Group posts

  8. YouTube Videos

  9. LinkedIn posts

  10. LinkedIn videos

  11. Webinars

  12. Newsletter

This list isn’t intended to overwhelm you but to give you some ideas on where you can be showing up and connecting with your audience.

You don’t have to put out all of these types of content but pick a couple that work for your type of audience + play on your strengths.

If video isn’t your thing then don’t start out with video but I will say video is one of the best ways to put a face to the name and build trust + credibility with your audience.

Consistency:

You most likely hear this all the time but I’ll repeat it one more time because it’s a fact that you’ve to listen to things multiple times before it sticks.

Consistency is almost as important as the content itself. Putting out content one week out of the month or a couple of times every other month won’t do you or your audience any good.

The reason you should be putting out content in the first place is to:

  1. Build your brand

  2. Build trust + credibility

  3. Build authority

So you’ve got to be like a TV show, your audience should know when and where they can tune into your “show”.

Stay Organized

How do you make sure you stay on schedule then? By staying organized through this one tool I just discovered and has become a game changer in my business.

Airtable!

I love love Airtable for all things content management.

I use the free version and it’s worked perfectly for me so far.

According to Wikepedia Airtable is:

Airtable is a spreadsheet-database hybrid, with the features of a database but applied to a spreadsheet. The fields in an Airtable table are similar to cells in a spreadsheet, but have types such as 'checkbox', 'phone number', and 'drop-down list', and can reference file attachments like images.

Users can create a database, set up column types, add records, link tables to one another, collaborate, sort records and publish views to external websites.

Sooo what does this mean in simple English?

It’s basically the best way to organize your content whether it’s blogs or newsletters. When you log into your Airtable account you will see something like this:

I recommend using the “Digital Content Calendar”  to organize your content.

I think the best way to show you how to use it for your business is to show you how I use it in mine so that you get an idea of how it can work for you.

I hope this helps you get organized with your content so that you serve your clients in a consistent and effective way.
